Relive The Action
People answered present at 1960’ Roma Olympic park “ Foro Italico” to witness what might be the day swimming was waiting for 13 Years. Both eastern and western stands were fully crowded.
The 17yr old Romanian showed total control in semifinals by swimming in 46.98 , gaining the Championship , European and World Junior Record , “ only ” 0.07 second behind the World Record.
César Cielo ( BRA ) set the previous world record back in 2009 in the exact same pool with a time of 46.91
